Volume Mascara Showdown

Hi Lovelies!

This post has been a long time coming as I’ve been dying to review essence cosmetics and catrice beauty products.

Ahh, mascaras….can’t live with them, can’t live without them. I’ve been cutting down my use of mascaras for work, but I do think that a mascara completes one’s polished look – as long as it’s the right mascara ūüėČ

The contenders for this showdown are:

Catrice Cosmetics Lashes to Kill False Lashes Volume Mascara

–¬†vs –¬†

Essence Cosmetics Plump no Clump Volume Mascara

Let the games begin!

The Catrice volume mascara is

A mascara with false lash fibres. The ultra volumising formulation attaches the fibres to the lashes and seals them. For an ultimate false lash effect.

Get it from   EBAY

Sure enough the wand looks…well, take a look:

The fibres remind me a bit of spider legs, brrrr

There is no ingredients list on the mascara (not enough space?), and the wand does have a bit of a scent to it, nothing overpowering. As you can see from the picture above, the wand picks up just enough product you to work with on one eye.

And here is how the mascara performed:

In the other corner, the Essence volume mascara is a:

Mascara for plumping volume without clumping the lashes. extra deep-black.

Get it from     EBAY      AMAZON

There is likewise no ingredients list on the mascara, and it also has a peculiar non-overpowering scent.

As you can see, the wand is fairly different. Whilst I was under the impression that it would be easier to use this wand, I was surprised to find that I was not able to reach the lashes close to the inner corner of my eye because of the pointed tip.

Application wise, here are the results:

Before this showdown, I was constantly reaching for my Catrice volume mascara, but now I tend to prefer using the Essence volume mascara. The wand is a bit more tricky to use, and as you can see from the photos above, I was not able to reach the lashes at the inner corners of my eyes…but the finished look is a lot sleeker and voluminous (and let’s face it, the Essence mascara is BLACKKK).

An aside: Neither of the mascaras are waterproof *sob sob*
