Hi Lovelies 🙂
Sorry for the delay in posting but schoolwork was getting in the way! Today I have a Korean skincare review in the form of the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask.
The Mask comes in a box with a packaging leaflet, the mask in a blue tub and a spatula.
The packaging leaflet
Directions for use: In the evning apply on face after skin refiner and emulsion are applied to the skin.
After taking an appropriate amount mark on nose tip, cheeks, forehead and chin area and enjoy the scent for about 3 seconds.
Gently spread on face, go to sleep after product is absorbed without rinsing off.
Wash face next morning. Recommended to use at least two to three times a week.
And now for the actual review:
I have dry skin and the weather lately has been very windy leaving me with drier skin. This product intrigued me as the idea of still taking care of your skin during the night and forming a barrier so that the skin stays mosturised is quite unqiue and intresting.
On opening the product I was a bit dismayed that the actually mask was inside a thinner tub hence the big tub is not really filled to it`s full capacity.
The cream itself is quite viscous ( see pics down below)
And how the mask looks on the skin and then blended .
My thoughts on the product:
Let me start by saying that this mask costs around 20 US Dollars and contains 70ml of cream. So basically it is quite an expensive mask, keeping in my mind that you have to use this for two to three times a week.
Meaning that the tub would last a maximum of probably a month or so. The smell is nice it has to be since you will be smelling this till you fall asleep! But it really does soothe.
The mask itself I have mixed feelings on. I like that there is abarrier on my skin, it does form a barrier as seen in the pics above, it is mosturising it is nice to spread BUT my skin did not feel softer or smoother. My skin was better when I applied a ton of my Pond`s cream and woke up with soft and supple skin.
To be honest the product does not really show any effect to the skin but it is geared towards forming a protective barrier during the night.
Would I repurchase this product? Right now I do not think I will, there are more products similar to this and are way more cheaper than this mask. I was not super impressed with it only because I excpected something that the product was not capable of giving.
I would recommend this product only if you want to form a barrier on your skin during the night maybe from dust or to help you fall asleep.
I would not recommend this product to people who want nice soft skin in the morning. Or if you think that the product will end up on the pillow since you sleep on your side.
I give this product a two lipstick rating.
I hope you found this post useful, if you have any questions or comments feel free to ask dwon below 🙂
This is the first review that I have done from my Korean Birthday Haul post and will certainly not be the last!
Have a lovely day
